Over the past 10-plus years, Bob Hoffman served as creative director, writer and co-producer of Scottrade’s very successful national television advertising campaigns. Scottrade competes with some of the largest, and biggest spending, online brokerage firms in America. The advertising consistently emphasized value and personal service for the self-directed investor with a human and humorous touch, serving to differentiate Scottrade from giant rivals such as Schwab, Fidelity, E*Trade and TD Ameritrade. Despite being outspent by a significant margin, the advertising helped Scottrade grow to over 3 million customers and expand to over 500 branch locations throughout the U.S.
